“ I underwent a large project in the summer of 2017 with plans to put a four room loft extension across the entire width of our house and adjoining annexe which was part of integrating everything into the one building.

The project was complex with the merging of two previous heating systems into one, connecting waste to the bathrooms that sat at opposite ends of the building and overcoming of a few architectural challenges. I could not have been happier with VR Builders who were excellent throughout the entire process.

“ We embarked on our project of rear single storey extension and loft conversion in November 2016 after receiving quotations from several local builders.

Vince was not the cheapest but we liked his quality from some houses we had visited and we had heard good things locally.

The work started in earnest firstly with the loft and we decided to carry on living in the house until all the work had been completed. Vince being aware of this did all he could to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum allowing us to have some sort of normal life.

Vince and his team made up of Kevin and Tony worked hard every day and things soon started to take shape, Vince at all times coming up with ideas to improve upon our original design and we soon started to realise how good the quality of build was going, the talents of Vince’s carpentry really showing through.

Included in his team were all the necessary trades, with whom we had total trust and confidence in. He also very willing to explain and answer any questions making us feel part of it and not an outsider looking in. With a break for Christmas work started in January on the rear extension and when we were cold inside Vince made sure the structure was insulated at night to ensure we kept warm. The build quality again excellent and Vince goes to great lengths to ensure that standards are not lowered to cut corners.

We felt we helped the process further by setting up a temporary kitchen and dining room in one of the bedrooms this allowed the team to work without delay to meet the quoted finish date.

We can honestly say trust was a big part of our relationship with Vince for which we did not regret and now we look back on a high quality build and at the same time giving us value for money.

Vince came round and we talked through everything we wanted from our double storey extension. He listened to everything we had to say and answered all the questions we had.
